World of Warcraft Voice Chat Sweeptakes
The built in World of Warcraft Voice chat is a much appriciated addon that will be really great once the bugs are all fixed. Apperantly a lot of players owning Creative brand sound cards have reported sound problems. Hopefully Blizzard and Creative will come up with a solution and enable the great addition in a couple of weeks time.
Anyway, to celebrate the launch of the World of Warcraft Voice Chat feature, Blizzard will be giving away 40 Logitech Digital Precision PC Gaming headsets for each of the next five weeks.
Each week’s winners will be randomly selected from among players who have been World of Warcraft subscribers for a minimum length of time, as shown below.
Week One: Three months
Week Two: Six months
Week Three: Nine months
Week Four: Twelve months
Week Five: Fifteen months

So when will Wrath of the Lich King be released?
There are many speculations of when the next World of Warcraft expansion is going to be released. Before TBC was released Blizzard announced that they are planning to ship out an expansion per year.
This is was taken from the forums at worldofwarcraft.com:
- Are we still on track for one expansion per year for World of Warcraft?
- “This is something we talked about awhile ago and it is still a goal for us. Keep in mind that a goal isn’t a guarantee. We are always trying to add as many dungeons, items, and features as possible and this of course takes time. So when will we release Wrath of the Lich King? When it’s ready.
” -Bornakk (Blizzard Poster)
This is a classic Blizzard answer. But as always Blizzard is a company well known for releasing quality before rushing out a product, so my guesses it won’t be out until Q2-Q3 2008.

WoW Account Sells for $9.700
Selling and buying accounts is something very common in World of Warcraft, even though it’s strictly forbidden by Blizzard. Good geared characters are often sold for a few houndred dollars although a few weeks ago one of the currently best geared rogues available was sold – for 7,000 Euro (~$9,700).The original owner, a Night Elf Rogue named Zeuzo from the guild Method on Sylvanas(EU) was one of the two only people in the world wielding both legendary swords dropping off Illidan Stormrage, final boss of the Black Temple. He also had 4/5 parts of the tier6 armor set, together with various other drops from Black Temple and Mount Hyjal, which could be considered as the best gear available in the game right now.
The new owner goes under the name Shaks and has moved the character to the Kazzak(EU) realm.

South Park wins an Emmy for WOW themed episode
South Park has won an Emmy for outstanding animated program for a WOW themed episode entitled: “Make Love, Not Warcraft. The episode is about the South Park kids trying to stop a “griefer” named Jenkins (after the infamous Leeroy Jenkins), and save the World of Warcraft from its ultimate destruction. Blizzard entertainment and South Park studios worked on the project together and crafted the Machinima used in the episode. Blizzard supplied the animators of the South par studios with full character models and assets. Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, said this before the shows’ premier: “We were excited to hear that the creators of ‘South Park’ were interested in featuring World of Warcraft in the opening of their new season, and we really enjoyed collaborating with them to make this happen,” the episode has earn so much popularity that prompted South Park Studios to release a 10-day free trial of the World of warcraft with the season 10 DVD package which includes the episode.

Chinese player set world record in leveling!
Just days ago TBC was released to a great relief for a Chinese player who already managed to put himself on the top by beating the record for quickest for quickest leveled character to L70.
Only 23 hours after starting his journey into Outlands at 11:20am on September 6th, troll hunter SilverDragon managed to ding 70 the next day at 10:48am.
The previous record was held by the French player Gullerbone, who achieved the task in 24 hours with the help of his guild, who would assist in killing mobs he tagged in order to maximize his experience gain. Whether or not SilverDragon used the same tactics is hard to say, but from the looks of some of the screenshots it looks like it might’ve been a group effort.
