Farm gold with mining and herbalism using Cartographer
Using two good professions can make you some sick amounts of gold. But typically people use either Herb/Skinning or Mining/Skinning because of the lack of ability to track both Herbs and Minerals at the same time. However, in combination with Cartographer, Herb/Mining becomes more viable.
Aside from the super-nice routing feature (see the other post on that!), it also displays spawn points on your mini-map. You can filter which spawn points you want to see, and you can scale how big they appear on the mini-map. The way it works is that when they are outside of the range that you could detect it, the mini-map displays an icon that represents the specific herb/ore. Once it’s in range, it turns into an empty circle, IF you are detecting that type of spawn…in other words if you have Find Herbs on, ore spawn points will always display the ore pictures, but herb pictures will turn into empty circles when you’re in range to detect the yellow dot. If you see empty circles, and they stay empty for a split second, then you know that nothing is there and you can move on.
So here’s what to do:
Pick up and Level Your Herbalism / Mining proffessions
Create a macro:
/castsequence Find Herbs, Find Minerals
Bind the Macro to a key. Clicking that key will toggle tracking herbs and ore every time clicked on. (There is a global cooldown of 1 second, but that’s ok.)
Next, setup a route to track the most-valuable herb and the most-valuable ore in a given zone. For example, in Shadowmoon Valley, make a route for Nightmare Vine and Adamantite Ore. This path will cover most of the map. Maybe You’ll miss a few spawnpoints of Felweed or Fel Iron Ore, but that’s no problem. The route will go near enough of them anyway.
As You’re flying around following the route, look on the minimap to see what kind of spawn points are around. Then hit the macro key to switch the tracking back and forth between ore and herbs. But because of Cartographer you know WHICH one you should be tracking. For example, if there’s a stretch of route that has herbs and no ore, you can tell because of what is being displayed in the minimap, you don’t need to switch. If you’re coming to a cluster of spawn points that has both, you keep one on (Herbs, for example), and when you enter that cluster, the herbs turn to circles…THEN you click the macro and switch to Ore, and check those empty circles.
Hope this description is understandable. Just try it out using Cartographer and you’ll figure it out in notime.

WoW: Wrath of Lich King in 2008
Yet no official release date to the Wrath of the leach king. Some people speculate September 2008 but that’s just unqualified guesses. The expectations are high and Blizzard always delivers quality, so even if I would like to play it NOOW, I guess it’s better they release a expension that gives the players enough new and fresh content than rush it out.
While we wait, let’s just rest our eyes on the trailer:
According to Jeff “Tigole” Kaplan of Blizzard, Northrend will feature a cool enormous PvP zone, the size of Westfall. The zone will be all-PVP and not for PVE players with lots of quest objectives, siege weapons and destructible buildings.
Sounds like great fun and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
Further Jeff Kaplan also promises players a epic feeling upon entering Northrend, even more grandious than in Burning crusade.
In his own words:
“We absolutely need to make the entry to Northrend epic”, he said. “…we originally had the entry to Burning Crusade’s Dark Portal as a bunch of cohorts waling around, and people reacted badly. This really hammered home the fact that we needed to raise expectations on entering the expansions”.

Easy & Quick Goldmaking tip at Level 70
If you are level 70 and possess a flying mount, one of the easiest ways to gain some cash is to do Daily Quests. Daily quests are quests that Blizzard has built in that offer reputation and a gold reward, and they can be repeated, but only once per day.
There are 2 in Terrokar Forest (in Skettis), and 4 in Blade’s Edge Mountains (Ogri’La) that each have a 12g reward. Generally You can do the 4 in Ogri’La in about 20 minutes. These CAN be completed in groups…that helps you rack up the kill count faster. The ones in Skettis have no pre-requisite. The ones in Ogri’La do have pre-requisites. They start by talking to the ogre questgiver up on a tower just outside the Circle of Blood in Blade’s Edge. There are also some daily quests in Shadowmoon Valley for the Netherwing faction…but they require you to have 300 riding skill (Artisan – ie: epic flying for 5000g), and they aren’t as easy as the Skettis and Ogri’La quests.
If you still haven’t got your characters to L70, there’s a new promising guide from Team
IDemise.
It features a wonderful ingame mapmod and waypoint system that will make your leveling go really smooth. They now hold the record on the fastest 1-70 leveling guide in the world. Check it out.
