Blizzard is extremely popular around the world but not to the players only since many developers are inventing new add ons for the game. Some of the developers just want to help out the players while others are trying to earn some money from the add ons.

However, with the recent change of policy regarding add ons, the developers are going to have some problems especially those who are trying to cover up donations and advertisements through the add ons.

This is annoying and distracting from the game so Blizzard has decided to put a stop at these unethical developers by stating that add ons should be free of advertisement and improve game experience.

So, to make sure you understand the rules, please read below:

  • 1) Add-on code must be completely visible.
  • 2) Add-ons must not negatively impact World of Warcraft realms or other players.
  • 3) Add-ons may not include advertisements.
  • 4) Add-ons may not solicit donations.
  • 5) Add-ons must not contain offensive or objectionable material.
  • 6) Add-ons must abide by World of Warcraft ToU and EULA.
  • 7) Blizzard Entertainment has the right to disable add-on functionality as it sees fit.

This is indeed a good move to weed out the bad developers and let the good ones continue with their job. I am sure you will enjoy better with advertisement free add ons. No more ads, no more pesky donations and a better game experience.
