It was not long ago when various speculations spiked as to when would be the possible World of Warcraft Cataclysm release date . The existence of Cataclysm was announced last year during BlizCon, Blizzards yearly conference. Since then, many had been anticipating to play the new expansion.
Along the road, when the date was not yet set to rock, Blizzard had been kind in giving us possible changes and challenges any player would encounter when the expansion would set in. A good example for this one would be the new level cap for players. From the former level 80, Cataclysm increases it to 85. Much more, we would be welcoming two new races in the game namely the Worgens and the Goblins. Aside from that, there are also many new dungeon raids, new bosses, new builds, new skills and the whole world of Azeroth will be changing. No wonder with the new expansion, Azeroth will literally never be the same again.
It was just last week when a speculation arises as to when would be the release date of Cataclysm. According to one forum member, this expansion will be out one week before the player tournaments. The tournament would set on December 14 of this year concluding that this will be released on December 7. Another gossip is that this will be on the market January of next year.
This is due to the delay of the pre order from Amazons with regards to the Collectors Edition Pack which will be delivered to its buyers next year. However, these are just mere hearsays with no official words stated by the game creators themselves.
With these and a lot of anticipation, Blizzard finally made an official announcement with regards to the Cataclysm’s release date. It will be target on December 7, 2010. This would be tagged as the official date for the most coveted expansion in WoW’s history.
The announcement was made in October 4. The expansion will be made available in a DVD format for its various operating systems namely XP, Vista, 7 and for the Mac. Its retail price would be $39.99. This can also be owned in digital format which can be downloaded from their store. On another note, you can also get the expansion via the Collector’s Edition Pack along with bonus items like soundtracks, cards and the like for a price of $79.99.
Needless to say, we still got two months to wait for the expansion. Nonetheless, the official Cataclysm release date is good considering that many were uncertain as to when can they get the hold if it. Good thing, the announcement came early so its wide player base can now practice and prepare.
