There are many rookies out there wondering the most suitable PC specifications for playing World of Warcraft. If you are wondering as well, this is useful for you. While most of us didn’t even bother to check the specifications of our PC before we buy the game and when we install the game, most unfortunately we might not be able to play due to not suitable specifications. This is also why it is important to make sure your PC is suitable for the game you want to play.

In this case, the minimum and recommended specifications for playing World of Warcraft:

PC System Requirements

Recommended: Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Now that you know the specifications, there might be other questions as well such as:

Is the game playable over a dial-up connection?
Yes, a 56.6k modem or higher is required.

However, please be informed that you will need these additional accessories for the game. Without these, you will have a hard time playing (in fact – can’t play at all).

Additional accessories:

Controls: A keyboard and mouse are required. Input devices other than a mouse and keyboard are not supported.
Connectivity: You must have an active broadband Internet connection to play.
Mouse: Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel recommended.
Hard Drive Space: 15 GB free hard drive space

So, there you go. What you need to know about PC specifications for playing WOW but be aware that the specifications are different from different versions of WOW.

could you tell me the cheapest make and model possibe not including monitor mouse or keyboard just the tower thanks

    2. My long distance boyfirend and I have been playing WoW since launch and have been on the edge of our seats ever since. It brings us all raid together and the positive social atmosphere is what makes this so popular.

    3. Fisaranin says:

Do you think a broadband speed of half meg ie. 512kb will be ok for playing?

    4. fj says:

I play on dialup. The only places I have problems are in Dalaran and large PvP (like Wintergrasp) areas. Other than that, I actually enjoy playing with my buddies only so I don't raid. I don't think I'd be able to stay in those without disconnecting anyway. I did manage to work up a bunch of honor and WG currency to get my chars some pretty good gear compared to quest or drop gear.

So, you can play on dialup, but only if you enjoy soloing or playing in small groups.

    5. Shaffer says:

Is there any companies that offer computer set-ups that would work great for WOW but not cost 1500 to 2K? Such as Newegg or Tigerdirect?
