There are many speculations of when the next World of Warcraft expansion is going to be released. Before TBC was released Blizzard announced that they are planning to ship out an expansion per year.

- Are we still on track for one expansion per year for World of Warcraft?

- "This is something we talked about awhile ago and it is still a goal for us. Keep in mind that a goal isn't a guarantee. We are always trying to add as many dungeons, items, and features as possible and this of course takes time. So when will we release Wrath of the Lich King? When it's ready. This is a classic Blizzard answer. But as always Blizzard is a company well known for releasing quality before rushing out a product, so my guesses it won't be out until Q2-Q3 2008.
