The ability of the Shamans to place totems has given them fame as they not only boost themselves but also the party members. The different totems can be cast with the division of four schools of fire, water, earth and air totems. At a time simply one totem of each is able to active. Likewise, the Totems, there is another great ability of a Shaman named as Blood Lust or Heroism for Draeneis, which raises all raid and party members haste rating up to 30% in 40 seconds. Don’t forget, a Fire and Earth Elemental is summoned up by the Shaman time to time.

Using several abilities the Shaman greatly get benefitted during leveling particularly in any kind of scenario. One of the great abilities of the Shamans is Reincarnation that goes with a cooldown of one hour. Although the cooldown ability does not work, yet the Shaman can revive even after getting killed. A reagent ‘Ankh’ is needed for it. Ghost Wolf is learnt by the Shaman at level thirty that improves his running speed, which is good for leveling although mounts are used at that time. Primarily, Shamans serve as an another Hearthstone, since they have Astral Recall too, but it has cool down of only 15 minutes and will not spot in your bag with a price tag!

Now you come to know that the Shaman really has some great abilities. You will be provided with more cool abilities and spells by the talent trees.

Lastly, the Restoration build concentrates on healing. Shamans are looked upon as the great healers since they have Chain Heales, Mana Totems, Earth Shield, Riptide, and Healing Waves. Giving great boosts to the pre-existing abilities, the Restoration talent tree bestows you with new abilities too.

For leveling with all these abilities, Shaman seems to be easy and a great fun. The other nice thing is that in absence of the Rogue you can change from melee damage to a healer or vice versa being a caster as per your will.

Shaman Leveling Build

It is important to use only the Enhancement tree. I would like to suggest you to move down the tree as early as possible so that you can get back in the later stage and be able to fill in some other points.

To begin with, ancestral Knowledge is necessary so that you can increase your Intellect. Choosing Improved Ghost Wolf will help you in making instant cast in a straight manner. It will sort out your tricky situations and so your time will be saved in general. If you want to go down to Shamanistic Focus you have to put three points in Thundering Strike. Two more points should be added in Thundering Strikes as well as in Improved Shields. Then you have to add five points in Flurry. You can take Mental Dexterity and Spirit Weapons and put another point in Improved Shields later. Dealing a lot of damage always requires Lightning Shield up. Without mana cost it has become a great thing those days.

Here you can put two points in Unleashed Rage and three points in Weapon Mastery. You need not to miss all the time when you go serially from Dual Wield, Storm Strike to Dual Wield Specialization. Storm Strike improvement can be possible with Lava Lash.

Having the Feral Spirit, you need to look at the talent tree just to choose the talents you like and fill in first. Finally, your talent tree should match with mine.

Shamans are best referred to as jack of all trades but a master of none. No wonder they are commonly referred to as one hybrid class. They may not be that excellent or at par at a certain skill but certainly that can perform most of the tasks in a party. They can act as a support healer, a secondary tank and even a damager. As such they also have quite a number of utility spells that they can use for themselves and for the other members as well.

One great advantage of being a shaman is its ability to heal and even resurrect other players. Secondly, they can also transform into a ghost wolf that allows them to travel much faster. Another huge advantage of being a shaman is their instant cast damage spells. However, there are still weaknesses that a shaman possesses. One is that their totems can be easily destroyed if attacked directly. They are also dependent on their mana with regards to their offense and survivability.

The real challenge of being a shaman is how to be an effective healer to a group or party member. Since you are a totem user, it would also be wise to learn how to use it properly. Thus, you would also need to learn all spells and every inch of know how most especially with regards to combat. As such every totem is in lieu with the different elements that we currently have. There are air, earth, water and fire totems. These have different summoning abilities that can directly affect you or the enemies. Depending on the element chosen, it will also grant you different scales like health that can increase party resistance to health that slows enemy’s movement speed. Totems are very handy but must be carried out and protected carefully.
