Wotlk Hunter Pets – The Changes for Better or Worse
The definition of WOW Hunter: Hunter class performs pulling, threat redirection, crowd control, and primarily ranged damage. Hunters have pets that add to their DPS and help manage aggro. They can also track, tame and train animals and beasts found in the wild. Hunters consider their weapons and pets to be their only true friends. (source: Wowwiki)
Training pets before Wotlk release can be a headache. With pet training points to wonder about, pet loyalty to sort out and pet leveling to constantly be updated, there is no wonder being a Hunter can be a painful experience for some (unless if you enjoy it).
However, when Wotlk is released, all those painful experience is gone and replaced with these wonderful features:
- Three Pet “Types” – Pets are being divided into three distinct “types.” Cunning, Ferocity, and Tenacity.
- 31 Pet “Families” – Pets are further to be divided into 31 family groupings that determine the 1 “Special” skill that they will use. Some of the special skills are simply incredible. For example, Rhinos get a skill called Stampede that knocks all enemies within 10 yards back 15 yards
- Pet Talent Trees – Many awesome tricks in the talent trees and you’re just going to have to browse through them for yourself.
- All pets get a Speed increase skill – this is perhaps the best news of all, no longer having to stuck with the slow speed of your pet (if your pet is extremely slow).
Finally, all the tiring features are gone into the thin air and these new features are really here on time for better, not for worse.
Whether you want to be a Wotlk Hunter or not when creating your first character, it is all depends on what you want to gain and how you want to play your game.
