Many have been anticipating on when would be the next World of Warcraft update be set to their local computers. As such, I myself am also eager in playing Cataclysm in spite if the date is not yet set in stone. However, with various updates and mini discussions in different forums and other WoW related sites, we can’t help but eye on the next update and make it happen real quick.
Blizzard has not yet formally announced as to when would be Cataclysm made available. However they are definite it would be in 2010. We are already halfway through the year and still they haven’t discussed as to when. They already released Starcraft 2 but the next WoW update is still uncertain. We still got six more months to count. However, a new rumor has been circulating and that is when Cataclysm would set it.
Thanks to Activisions’ CFO Thomas Tippl, who sort of spills some specs of details. Blizzard for sure would release Cataclysm in 2010 that is certain. Thomas somehow filters that it would be the fourth quarter of the year. Such announcement was made in line with an interview in relation to Activision’s sales in the second quarter. Perhaps you may be hesitant about this information since anyone can just assume. Well you should read even further.
Thomas claims that such a set date came from a very trusted source. As such Blizzard has a reputation of really tinkering into the details of their games in spite if it would mean delay. I guess their Cataclysm expansion is definitely not an exception. With that said let me quote Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime, “As with all Blizzard games though, we won’t release until it’s ready”.
In spite of my eagerness to get my hands on trying out Cataclysm, I guess it would be pretty safe to be patient. After all Blizzard has never disappointed us in terms of their games. I am pretty sure they are doing their best to make the next expansion wicked and awesome. However with Thomas’ note I guess we only got to wait for a few more months. Who knows it might be one big surprise from Blizzard to us. Again Cataclysm set date is still uncertain however it is pretty sure it would be in the fourth quarter of the year.
