Blizzard announced that their full line-up of games for GamesCom 2012 in Cologne, Germany will feature everyone’s favorite Diablo III, the next expansion for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm and the first glimpse at the opening cinematic for the next big World of Warcraft expansion, the Mists of Pandaria.
Demos of MoP will also be on display, so after watching the opening cinematic you’ll be able to dabble in the new expansion pack’s content, which features a lot of kung-fu pandas and ancient, mystical turtles…and we all know how much people love furry talking pandas and mystical, ancient turtles.
For StarCraft II there will be multiplayer sessions available with brand new unit classes for the Teran, Protoss and Zerg, enabling gamers to experiment with the additional strategic command units. Not much else was mentioned about Heart of the Swarm because I think Blizzard is banking more on Mists of Pandaria being the showstealer.
Last but not least is Diablo III. Despite all the controversy regarding a lot of anti-consumerist business measures, the game is still highly popular and retains a very dedicated fanbase. Blizzard will be showcasing the game at their booth at B21 in Hall 6.1. Again, not much else was said about Diablo III given that right now their clean sheep out of the group is still World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.
Gamers planning on traveling to Germany in August between the 15th and the 19th will be able to check out Blizzard’s prime-time line-up at GamesCom. For more information be sure to pay a visit to the Official Website.
