World of Warcraft Patch 3.3 Release
The question everyone have been talking about the last days is if patch 3.3 will be released this week or not? Well, according to good sources it seems that we’re finally going to enjoy the new content today. We’ve all seen the background downloader kick in the last week and Blizzard is working hard on getting the final touches togheter. Maintanance will run from 4am EST to 2pm EST, then we expect that it will be LIVE!
Here’s some more exciting news:
• 3.3’s Fishing Pool Guarantees – Over the past week or so Blizzard poster Wryxian has practically written a book on fishing over on the EU forums. The major thing he confirms in his many posts is that fishermen will never catch trash from fishing pools regardless of their fishing level. Bobber goes in…fish comes out. Some players have a couple of different complaints about this, first is that “it’s not fair”. Ugh! Players are whining because now lower level players will be able to level their fishing skill with items they can actually use, and sell. Which brings us to the other problem high level fishermen have…their Auction House loot will likely be history once this change goes into effect. Both of these concerns face a similar “that’s just the way it is” kind of response from Wryxian. Basically secondary professions are becoming less exclusive and in turn less lucrative. Makes sense.
• Blizzard Talks Some About Raid Healing in Cataclysm – Blizzard poster Ghostcrawler hit the forums this week with a little information about balancing PvP and PvE in Cataclysm and in his posts he said “Health pools will be much larger in Cataclysm and healing will be lower”. In other words, it will take more hits for the boss to finish off the tank so heal size is expected not to matter as much as coordinating heals properly. Ghostcrawler goes on to state that the idea behind this is to force healers to strategize more about which heals they’re using when instead of just relying on “the big heal” to get the job done. Although Cataclysm endgame is a looong way off yet, it’s nice to hear what’s going through the great and powerful minds of the developers!
• Player Earns All Achievements – A Taiwanese WoW player has earned all in-game achievements! Yes, I said all! Littlegray of the Wrathbringer server has spent a lot of time earning achievements…all 986 of them currently in the game. I know I keep saying it, but wow! Anyhow, I heard about this story a little while ago, but it seemed fishy to me so I wanted to check it out and if you don’t believe it… check out his Armory Profile for all the details. He also has completed all realm first feats including leatherworking and first aid within just days of each other. So, congrats to Littlegray on this one and just a little message…there is a whole world out there you may wanna go check out sometime.
• Blizzard Compensating Players for Downtime – This bit of news will surely please many WoW fans after last Tuesday’s maintenance had some servers down for a horribly long time. Blizzard is compensating players on the effected realms by adding 24 hours of free game time to their accounts. To see if you are going to be credited, head on over to our blog for the complete list of servers.
• Blizzard Goes to Facebook – Ah…the power of social networking! Any business would be silly to ignore it, and now Blizzard is recognizing it even more with brand new fan pages for their three big franchises; Diablo, Starcraft and of course Warcraft, on Facebook. Official fan pages are a great outlet for companies to keep fans up to date, release new information, videos, promotions and to run contests. There is also a “wall” where fans can post questions or comments related t the individual games. So, if you’re on Facebook make sure you check out these links and become a fan today!
• Exclusive Frostmourne Set Now in the Blizzard Store – A new item popped up in the Blizzard store this week, available only to European fans. It’s a Frostmourne-Themed Set which includes a key chain which is the same design as the one BlizzCon goers got this summer, only this one is made of rhodium. The set also includes an insulated metal mug with Frostmourne’s runic engravings on one side. This is a limited edition set so if you’re dying to get one, you’d better hurry!
• Speed Level All The Way To L80 – The new hot Zygors Guide 2 provides questing routes that ensure you select the right quest order that allow you to level in the fastest time possible and avoiding quests that are a waste of time and slow your leveling. Using Zygors Add-on, you can solo level all the way to level 80 ultrafast without having to group with anyone if you do not want. It’s like a premium Quest Helper for all classes including Death Knight. 100% questing – 0% Grinding.
